In December 1975, Hamilton Standard sold the Electron Beam Welding business to Leybold-Heraeus. Offices were opened in Enfield, CT in February 1976 and production began there in May 1976.

Early 1980's L-HVS/Enfield EBW (7.5) 108x56x56 unit. A continuation of the 108" large chamber product line with tilting rotary headstock fixture.
Manufactured in the mid-1980's, Leybolds' Large Steam Turbine Generator EB welding unit is one of the largest and most powerful (60 kW) EBW systems in the US.
