PTR-Precision Technologies, Inc. is a member of the Global Beam Technologies group, the largest manufacturer of electron beam welding and drilling systems in the world. PTR manufactures Electron Beam Welding Systems for the North American market and provides process development, service, training, and job shop EB welding services at our Enfield, CT plant.

 

SCOPE OF POSITION:

PTR – Precision Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join our team in Enfield, CT. The Electro-Mechanical Assembler will serve as an in-house service Assembler, with a focus on assisting in the manufacturing of electron beam welding machines as well as monitoring and maintaining machines in our Job Shop to reduce downtime and increase consistent operation.

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform layout and wiring of panels, consoles and power supplies
  • Wires machines, builds harnesses, tests transformers, and performs wiring inspections for quality control
  • Provides RMA support
  • Occasional travel to customer sites may be required (role is primarily performed in-house at our Enfield plant)
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance and unplanned emergency repairs
  • Troubleshoots repairs and installs replacements as required on machines to ensure minimal downtime
  • Performs all duties in compliance with safety guidelines
  • Performs other duties as necessary, or assigned

 

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:
  • Experience in soldering
  • Good problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
  • Intermediate to advanced electrical skills
  • Proficient with hand tools
  • Basic computer skills (including Microsoft products)

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma
  • Soldering experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience preferred

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
