WHO IS PTR?
PTR-Precision Technologies, Inc. (PTR), a leading US manufacturer of EBW equipment, located in Enfield, CT (USA), was incorporated in 1989 as a high-energy beam processing company. At that time PTR and its sister division in Germany acquired the worldwide EBW activities of Leybold AG.

Due to its predecessors, Hamilton (HSD) and Leybold (L-HVS), PTR's roots extend to the initial development and application of EB processing technology (back in the 1950's). Our wealth of experience accumulated from manufacturing and delivering a broad variety of electron beam equipment to all industries and the daily use of our welders in our job shop, serves as the basis for the modern day EB equipment we presently produce.

CONTRACT WELDING
In addition to being a source for complete EBW systems, PTR is also a supplier of contract-type EBW services. PTR is the only job shop to offer its customers a complete range of electron beam processing capabilities including 60 kV, 150 kV, nonvacuum, and partial/high vacuum electron beam welding. All of these systems are fully supported by a staff of highly qualified equipment operators and backed by a large number of professional personnel having extensive technical and metallurgical expertise. Our operators are skilled to do high energy beam welding for a variety of different industries including aircraft component suppliers. We are NADCAP certified.

As an OEM of EBW equipment, our contract welding systems are state-of-the-art in both regulation and control capability. Simultaneous CNC control of both part motion and individual beam parameters is an integral part of all equipment used in our job shop.

SYSTEMS MANUFACTURING
PTR specializes in integrating proven technologies to produce electron beam welding systems that meet detailed customer specifications. This is accomplished by applying a modular approach to system design, which provides higher quality systems at lower investment cost.

Hard and partial vacuum EBW units (both high voltage and low voltage), with powers of up to 60 kW, are available for producing ultra-high purity, very deep penetration, single pass welds. These systems are available with vacuum chambers of any size depending upon specific customer requirements. In addition, systems capable of electron beam welding at atmospheric pressure, providing higher production speeds and greater processing efficiencies, can be supplied.

Long term relationships with our customers and technical feedback from PTR's own job shop, where welders are used in a two shift operation, guide the efforts of engineering to increase functionality, reliability and ergonomics. Continuous improvements have earned PTR's equipment the benchmark status in its field.
