Process: Joining Tool Steel Wire to Mild Steel Backing in Bimetallic Strip Welding for Bandsaw and Hacksaw Products in Continuous Production
Machine: High vacuum welding system (S/N 564) with vacuum staging chambers to provide a continuous processing capability
Power: 7.5 kW (150 kV at 50 mA)
Control: Allen-Bradley Series PLC/2
Production: Welding capability up to 600 IPM (15M/min)
Vacuum: Main chamber vacuum held at 4 x 10-4 mbar with two extension chambers on each side held at higher pressures
Floor Space: 17 ft by 27 ft (5.2 M by 8.2 M) for base system integrated into line 65 feet (20 M) long
